How it’s made
From Maa’s hands
Maa has crocheted for our family for decades — baby blankets before I was born, scarves for cold Delhi winters, small gifts nobody asked for but everyone kept. Gifts By Mosami started because friends kept asking where they could buy “one of Maa’s things” for their own family.
Every piece is made in the gaps of her day: a few rows after lunch, an hour once the house is quiet in the evening. A baby blanket takes her the better part of two weeks. A small keychain takes an afternoon. Nothing is rushed, because rushing shows in the stitches.
No two pieces come out exactly the same, and that’s not a flaw we’re covering up. A slightly uneven row, a stitch pulled tighter than the one before it — that’s Maa’s hand in the work, the part a machine could never make.
